Communication
join code: WEDHV
While we will still be posting information here on the website, we will be integrating a new way of communicating with the team this year, through the messenger app, Spond. This messenger app allows for two-way communication between the coaching staff and families. Parents will receive a duplicate of all communications their athletes receive - we hope this new tool more quickly enables us to communicate any changes we encounter due to weather, busing, or other issues.
Coaching Staff
Coach Fehrman

Previously, he coached for a combined 5 years at Green Mountain High School (Lakewood, CO) and Durham School of the Arts (Durham, NC). He is honored to take over from Coach Kohuth, and excited to continue to build on his legacy of building teams that are fun, supportive, and passionate about running. Coach Scudamore
Coach Scudamore returns the Angels where he has served as an assistant coach since 2014. Coach Scudamore brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the staff as a former professional runner and US National Marathon Champion, following his All-American collegiate performance at Stanford University. This level of expertise will be reflected in his race recaps throughout the season. Coach Kohuth
Coach Kohuth stepped down as Head Coach following the 2025 season, after 22 years at the helm, but he is not gone yet. After building this program from not enough kids to produce a scoring squad in the early years to a team that regularly reaches one hundred or more athletes a year, he wasn’t ready to be truly say goodbye. Coach Kohuth will serve as a volunteer coach this year, so that he can run the occasional practice, attend meets, and drive athletes to Kansas. We’re so excited to have Coach Kohuth back because of all that he means to the team and our identity. skohuth@dpsk12.net
Coach Hunt
Coach Hunt began as a volunteer coach with East during the 2025 season. Previously, she served as Head Cross Country Coach at Eaglecrest High School, but stepped down when she came over to East as a math teacher in 2023. Over the past few years she has focused on her own racing career, and will contend at the Mesa Marathon on February 14, 2026 where she is looking to break the 3 hour mark for a career PR, before returning to help coach the East Angels in the 2026 season. alison_hunt@dpsk12.net
