Coach Simons is entering his third year of coaching, after stops at Bear Creek and Eaglecrest, and is excited to join the Angels. Born in Oregon and raised in Tracktown USA, he has competed since fifth grade. After moving to Colorado, he became an all around athlete for The Vanguard School, helping his team to 2014 Colorado 2A state titles in the 4x200 and runner up finishes in the 4x400 and 4x800, and high jumping a personal best of 6 feet 4 inches.
He continued as a long sprinter at UCCS, where he became a Division II All-American in the 4x100 in 2018 and competed at nationals in the 400, 200, and 4x100. A multi time RMAC champion, he graduated holding school records in the indoor and outdoor 400 and 4x400 and the outdoor 200 and 4x100. He holds a bachelor's in Communications and is pursuing a master's in education, and he is excited to pass on the sport he has loved for so long.
