SHANELLE ROBINSON
ASSISTANT HEAD COACH /
HEAD JV COACH
Assistant Head Coach Shanelle Robinson is a Jamaican raised Hinkley High School Alum. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Sports and Exercise Science and a minor in Coaching. This fall she completed her first season as a head cross country coach, so distance is her jam. During school hours, she helps guide our Angels as the College & Career Navigator at East.
Energy, culture, and community is what she brings every day. She’s been in the distance game for a long time (she was the 2009 Skyline Athletic Conference Cross Country Champ), and came up under Coach Carhart (gave him his first league title back in the day), and still carries his lessons with her. Run with intention, compete with heart, and always show up for your team. Those principles shaped her then, and they guide how she coaches now.
Robinson has been coaching for over 7 years, and nothing hits like watching athletes realize they’re capable of more than they thought. Distance running teaches real-life stuff like patience, belief, and resilience, and that’s why she loves it. Youth development is her lane, and helping athletes grow into confident leaders is her mission.
She likes to joke that she’s a retired athlete still trying to chase her glory days (stretching is more of a lifestyle now), but she stays hungry (figuratively and literally). She’s here to build a culture where we work hard, support each other, and have fun doing it.
